Duties
- Implement evidence-based behavioral therapy techniques based on personalized care plans developed by BCBAs
- Collect and record data on client behaviors, progress, and responses to interventions with precision and attention to detail
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, dressing, eating, and communication skills development
- Support clients during teaching sessions to promote skill acquisition in areas like social interaction, communication, and self-care
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations when handling medical documentation and client records
- Collaborate with team members to adjust intervention strategies as needed for optimal outcomes
- Foster a positive, engaging environment that encourages learning and growth for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities
Qualifications
- Prior experience or training in behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), or working with children with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Strong passion for working with children and individuals with special needs, demonstrating patience, empathy, and enthusiasm
- Ability to assist with ADLs and support behavioral health needs effectively
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and basic data collection methods is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members, clients, and families effectively
- Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or willingness to obtain certification within specified timeframes is highly desirable
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining flexibility in dynamic settings
