Experteer Overview As a Staff Psychologist at VA Altoona, you deliver a full range of mental health services to Veterans in an outpatient setting. You will conduct psychological assessments, diagnose mental disorders, provide evidence-based therapies, and develop treatment plans for an assigned caseload. You will collaborate with clinical staff and community providers, support crisis intervention, and contribute to program evaluation and quality improvement. Compensation / Benefits • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnose mental disorders for referred Veterans • Provide evidence-based psychotherapies (individual, family, group) and document direct Veteran care • Offer crisis intervention and develop crisis management plans to stabilize Veterans • Provide consultation to professional staff and community providers on assessment findings and treatment plans • Develop, implement, and document psychotherapeutic treatment plans and complete clinical reminders promptly • Perform measurement-based care and use data to inform treatment and feedback to Veterans • Work independently with Veterans and families dealing with complex medical, psychiatric, emotional, behavioral, and psychosocial issues • Assist in design, development, and implementation of mental health clinical programs; support program evaluation and quality improvement • Ensure compliance with CPRS documentation and attend health leadership meetings • Engage in other duties as required Tasks • Key requirements • EDRP eligible (education debt reduction program) • Paid time off 37–50 days per year • Parental leave up to 12 weeks after 12 months • Child care subsidy up to 25% of eligible costs • Traditional federal pension • Federal health/vision/dental/long-term care insurance
