Summary: Dual Diagnosis treatment center is seeking an energetic and organized Substance Abuse Case Manager to join our multidisciplinary team. The Substance Abuse Case Manager will be responsible for the delivery of crisis management, assessment, treatment, education, individual sessions and aftercare planning services.

WE WILL NOT CONSIDER APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT HOLD THIS CERTIFICATION OR DO NOT HAVE EXPERIENCE AS A COUNSELOR FOR A DRUG AND ALCOHOL TREATMENT CENTER.

Job Description:

  • Be able to work with clients of varied social, economic, cultural and religious backgrounds
  • Have handled case work and documentation on clients
  • Have handled Individual Counseling in Addiction and client documentation
  • Be able to complete Bio-psycho-socials on all incoming clients
  • Be prepared to lead groups
  • Complete individual sessions day of session and group sessions day of session within the KIPU electronic medical record
  • Complete family contact notes
  • Complete treatment plan within time frame associated in policies and procedures

Requirements for Position:

You must be fully certified as a substance abuse counselor and have held the position of addiction counselor/case manager/counselor to be considered for this position. applicants who do not hold valid certification.

Qualifications

  • Must have certification in substance abuse counseling - CATC, SUDCC or CADC.
  • Experience working at a substance abuse treatment center
  • Must be an energetic and dynamic group leader and demonstrated excellence leading a wide range of psychoeducational groups
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent time management, organizational, written, verbal, and computer skills
  • Must have up-to-date CPR and First Aid training certification
  • Experience and an understanding of the 12 core competencies of drug and alcohol counseling as well as co-occurring mental health disorders
  • Maintain a current, thorough knowledge of ongoing developments and new techniques in the fields of substance abuse, mental health, and behavioral health community resources

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Orient new clients to the programs’ rules, policies, procedures and clients’ rights.
  • Admission and intake assistance, including assessment, and crisis intervention.
  • Providing group therapy including psychoeducational and relapse prevention groups.
  • Providing individual counseling/case management services.
  • Maintaining accurate and thorough documentation in EMR/Kipu of all clinical services.
  • Case management, advocacy, coordination of FMLA/disability, legal issues/court documentation, and aftercare resources as needed.
  • Manage and supervise clients by enforcing program rules and guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively and develop rapport with clients in a treatment setting.
  • Conduct resident drug testing, which includes direct observation, reviewing and reporting onsite test results and/or urine collection procedures for laboratory analysis.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with clinical and administrative staff and supervisors
  • Responsible for client attendance of daily recovery activities as scheduled.
  • Refer client to his/her therapist/counselor for psychological/emotional issues.
  • Report all health and safety hazards, facility and/or vehicle maintenance/repair problems to the Safety Officer.
  • Immediately document and report critical incidents, behavioral incidents and medication errors to Safety Officer and/or Program Director.
  • Document all instances of infectious diseases as described in infection prevention and control procedures located in Safety Binder.
  • Attend annual health and safety training and practice emergency drills based on outlined procedures.
  • Conduct emergency safety drills when announced by Safety Officer.
  • Participate in scheduled Human Resource standard training sessions.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $27.00 - $33.00 per hour
