Overview
Join our dynamic mental health team as a Mental Health Counselor (MS/MA - Level), where your expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals facing diverse psychological challenges. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide comprehensive mental health services, Behavioral Health Services and/or couple counseling across Hybrid - In Office & Tele-Health (audio/video) settings, utilizing evidence-based practices to promote healing, resilience, and well-being. You will work collaboratively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver personalized care that fosters positive outcomes and supports recovery journeys.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions incorporating psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, and/or applied behavior modifications.
- Create Master Treatment Plan and MTP Reviews in a timely manner, as required by the Insurance company of each client.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage urgent situations effectively, ensuring safety and stabilization for clients experiencing acute mental health crises.
- Facilitate specialized counseling services including grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, and behavioral management for individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within HIPAA-compliant medical records, maintaining detailed notes on patient care, assessments, progress, and treatment outcomes using appropriate medical terminology and CPT coding.
- Coordinate care with other healthcare providers, social workers, educators, and support systems to optimize patient support networks.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and data collection efforts aimed at advancing behavioral health practices and improving service delivery.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Counseling Psychology, Mental Health, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid MS/MA Degree, Prefer- certification as a Professional Counselor, RMFTI or RMHCI or Master level in clinical social work, mental health, Behavioral Health and/or marriage and Family. Prefer Licensed Mental Health (LMHC), (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent credential, preferred, but not required.
- Proven experience working with children, adolescents, adults youths, couples, and/or geriatrics in outpatient or Hybrid settings highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapies including psychotherapy techniques such as motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy.
- Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for diagnostic evaluation documentation.
- Experience with telehealth platforms and delivering remote counseling services effectively.
- Ability to manage crisis situations with calmness and professionalism; skills in crisis management and crisis intervention are essential.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging clients across diverse backgrounds while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
- Prefer: Spanish and English Speaker (Bilingual), but not required
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health and mental health counseling practices is preferred.
