It sometimes takes a village to save an animal’s life and that’s where you step in and shine. Our full-time Intake Coordinator connects people, coordinates incoming transports and the animals' immediate care, moving animals forward to their next chapter in life. Every day brings new arrivals, new challenges, and new opportunities to save more lives.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate the logistics for incoming animal transfers, public surrenders, and local strays.
- Build and maintain strong, mission-driven relationships with partner shelters, our community, and the public.
- Participate in transports; ensure every animal arrives safely and receives immediate care and attention.
- Collaborate with other departments to determine animals’ next steps after arrival.
- Review surrender applications and support the innovative Home-to-Home program helping pets find new families.
- Update and manage medical and intake records in our database.
What You Bring
- Hands-on experience in animal shelters, veterinary clinics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of dog and cat behavior and body language.
- Confidence in handling animals with medical or behavioral needs.
- Compassionate and clear interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, adapt quickly, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for animal welfare and alignment with our mission.
- Comfort learning new systems and technology.
