POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of a Clinical Supervisor or Clinical Director, the Mentor RBT will implement evidence-based behavioral treatment plans, utilizing best practices in a professional, ethical, and compliant manner, and administratively and clinically mentor incoming technicians during case transitions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides quality behavioral intervention to clients, under the direct supervision of a Clinical Supervisor
- Collects accurate skill acquisition and behavior reduction data on all areas targeted for intervention, as specified by supervising Clinical Supervisor
- Reports directly to the Clinical Supervisor regarding client performance, parent concerns, and team needs.
- Adequately prepares for each session in advance, arrives on time when traveling to Center, home, and other community settings, as required, to ensure high quality services.
- Meets established minimum productivity guidelines for the Mentor RBT position in an efficient and effective manner, including providing shift coverage for direct one-to-one intervention.
- 15 billable hours per week.
- Acts as an “assistant assessor” under the “Responsible Assessor” guidelines provided by the BACB for RBT competencies of behavior technicians.
- Engage in a train-to-replace model with behavior technicians and clients.
- Provide up to 12 hours of shadowing time for behavior technicians.
- Temporarily (not to exceed 1 month (30 days)) work with up to six clients at a time for a minimum of 4-10 hours per week
- Responsible for the scheduling and management of service delivery of the caseload – ensuring each child is seen at least 1 time per week
- Provide ongoing support to behavior technicians and/or novel RBTs in the form of a mentorship program. Communicate with the training coordinator progress of the supported behavior technicians.
- Report to the clinical director deficits or concerns with mentoring metrics.
- Provides professional, efficient, and effective services in all areas of performance, including following the appropriate scheduling, administrative, and payroll related protocols:
- Accurately completes necessary documentation, including treatment notes and collecting client signatures, into the practice management system and keeps updated with other site- related documents and current medical reports for each child.
- Collects, records, and summarizes data on observable client behavior; maintains client confidentiality.
- Utilizes safe and appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.
- Provides child-related communication to caregivers and the program team, as appropriate.
- Maintains and acquires technical knowledge by attending required trainings, staff meetings, in-services, team meetings, and other meetings as requested.
- Implements behavior support strategies and effectively monitors behavior according to behavior plans and procedures.
- Assists clients in functional skills such as brushing teeth, dressing, toileting, and eating.
- Follows all Company policies and procedures, as outlined in Team Member Handbook and other written documents.
- Performs other duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent and must be at least 18 years old
- Registered Behavior Technician Certification required
- Must be fluent in English (written and verbal)
- Must have a valid driver’s license in state of residence (except in CA), reliable transportation needed, proof of valid driver’s license, current auto insurance identification card and registration, and clean Department of Motor Vehicle record; no conviction or pending driving under the influence prior to and during employment with Attain ABA.Kadiant.
- Follows the RBT Ethics Code.
- Completion of additional training as required by this position.
- Experienced in evidence-based methodologies in Applied Behavior Analysis, and the treatment of ASD.
- Must adhere to and complete all requested ongoing CEUs, training, and certification renewals.
- Must complete all Attain ABA.Kadiant required trainings in the designated time.
- Skills: Attention to detail, well organized, flexible, and open to taking feedback.
- Ability to complete the physical demands of the job duties such as lifting children up to 35 lbs., frequent sitting and standing, kneeling, and running with children.
- Must have stamina and alertness during entire therapy session.
- Must be able to hear and have good vision (close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception).
- Must clear DOJ/FBI background check and exclusion screening processes, and any other state applicable requirements prior to and during employment.
- Must have a personal device (phone, tablet, or laptop) that can support Central Reach and Microsoft 365 applications.
- HIPAA Compliant transportation method required.
