Peer Support Specialist (CRPA / Certified Peer Specialist Required)
About the Role
Aliya Wellness is seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist ( or CRPA) to provide one-on-one support to adults experiencing emotional and mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, loneliness, and life transitions.
This role is focused on helping clients function better in their day-to-day lives through consistent, relationship-based support, under the guidance of a licensed therapist.
Position Overview
The Peer Support Specialist works directly with clients in their home or community, providing practical, non-clinical support. The goal is to help clients build structure, stay engaged, and make real progress toward goals outlined by their therapist.
This is not a therapy role — it is hands-on support that reinforces the clinical care plan in real-world settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Build a consistent and supportive relationship with assigned clients
- Help clients establish daily routines and structure
- Provide emotional support and reduce isolation
- Support clients in following through with goals set by their therapist
- Accompany clients to community activities when appropriate
- Encourage independence and confidence
- Maintain communication with the supervising therapist and care team
- Complete documentation accurately and on time
Requirements
- Active CRPA (Certified Recovery Peer Advocate) or Certified Peer Specialist certification — required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, patient, and emotionally aware
- Ability to work independently in the community
- Basic comfort with technology for documentation
Preferred
- Experience working with adults or older adults
- Prior experience in mental health or community-based services
Work Structure
- Flexible scheduling based on client needs
- Primarily community-based (in-person), with some remote support as needed
- Ongoing supervision and support from a licensed therapist
