Job Description
The Therapist perform the more difficult counseling services in connection with the rehabilitation of residents and mental health residents with substance abuse problems. The Therapist plans, manages and provides services to residents in treatment. This individual utilizes case history to develop individual, group
and family therapy techniques, administration, organization, consultation. and case
management planning.
Education and Qualifications
- This position shall be a licensed professional that may include but not limited to: AMFT
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- 1 year of experience with a substance abuse population and treatment model
- 3 years sobriety if recovering
- Current TB test results.
Position Description
The Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (AMFT) provides therapeutic services to patients with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders within a structured treatment environment. Under the supervision of a licensed clinician, the AMFT delivers individual therapy, group therapy, crisis intervention, and clinical documentation in alignment with state, federal, and facility standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Clinical Services
- Provide individual, group, couple, and family therapy as well as crisis intervention.
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, intake assessments
- Facilitate psychoeducational and process groups focused on addiction, mental health, coping skills, emotional regulation, boundaries, and recovery.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete timely, accurate, and clinically sound documentation including assessments, progress notes, and Mental Status Exam.
- Maintain compliance with BBS requirements, facility policies, confidentiality guidelines, HIPAA, and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nursing, case management, psychiatry, and program staff to ensure continuity of care.
Team Collaboration
- Attend clinical meetings, case conferences, and weekly supervision sessions.
Required
- Master’s degree or higher in Marriage & Family Therapy or Clinical Psychology from an accredited program.
- Active California AMFT registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
- Experience or strong interest in working with clients with substance use and co-occurring disorders.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $66,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
