At South Meadows Recovery, a small but growing drug and alcohol treatment program, we are currently seeking a full-time Licensed (LCDC) Substance Abuse Counselor for our PHP/IOP location in North Austin.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to clients to support recovery, personal growth, and lifestyle changes while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Assist clients in building coping skills, improving emotional awareness, and developing insight into behaviors and relationships.
- Assess client needs through review of clinical information and contribute to treatment planning and implementation.
- Support clients during crisis situations and help coordinate appropriate services when needed.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director by providing updates, reports, and clinical recommendations.
- Facilitate group sessions including psychoeducation, chemical dependency education, communication skills, and process groups.
- Maintain regular one-on-one sessions with assigned clients.
Preferred Knowledge & Skills:
- Understanding of human behavior, motivation, and mental health conditions.
- Familiarity with treatment approaches, clinical methods, and recovery processes.
- Knowledge of group dynamics and cultural/social influences.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage effectively with clients.
- Organized, dependable, and proactive in daily responsibilities.
- Demonstrates empathy and a genuine desire to help others.
Qualifications:
- Active LCDC license (or close to completing 2000+ hours)
- Experience with 12-step principles and recovery models
- Experience with Lightning Step or similar EMR systems is a plus, but not required

Pay: $42,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
