About Beacon Transitions
Beacon Transitions is a private residential program located in Hendersonville, NC, specializing in working with young adults on the Autism Spectrum who are working toward transitioning into independence. We provide support to our residents through coaching, direct instruction, and community engagement in the areas of adaptive living skills, health and nutrition, money management, vocational and educational skills, and social skills.
The Role
We are currently hiring for a Residential Advisor to support one or multiple areas of our program. The Residential advisor is responsible to provide programming support in all areas of the program and/or guidance to adults with disabilities that includes but is not limited to; personal hygiene, meal preparation, cooking, housekeeping, laundry, shopping, planning and participating in community based activities, documentation, and the implementation of programs using approved methods and instructions.
- Specialized Residential Setting: Key Responsibilities
- Support 3 male clients in a structured residential environment.
- Assist Community Living Manager in providing excellent customer service for clients and families.
- Possible Day Time Support: Provide assistance for clients day to day logistical needs
- Possible Late-Night Support (8 PM – 11 PM): Provide targeted guidance for three residents to maintain healthy eating habits, hygiene routines, and medication management.
- Possible RBT Certification/Support: Utilize behavioral intervention skills to support residents. RBT expertise is specifically needed for another aspect of our program involving community-based clients.
- Life Skills Coaching: Provide direct instruction in meal preparation, cooking, housekeeping, laundry, and money management.
- Documentation: Implement programs and maintain accurate logs using approved agency methods.
2. Main Program Support: Key Responsibilities
- Hours: Weekday or weekend daytime and overnight shifts.
- Focus: Working with a larger group of clients in a fast-paced environment centered on vocational and educational skill-building.
- Note: While daytime hours are available, our greatest need remains weekends and overnights.
3. RBT & Community-Based Support: Key Responsibilities
- Community Clients: RBT support is needed for a specific branch of our program working with clients out in the community.
- We are placing a strong emphasis on candidates who are RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) Certified. If you do not currently hold this certification but are the right fit for the role, we are open to discussing providing in-house RBT training and certification.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Pay: Starting at $17.00/hour.
- Overnight Stipend: $68.00 (week nights) 75.00 (weekend) per night (private sleeping area provided).
- Benefits:

Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (Preferred).
- Experience: 2 years working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum (Preferred).
- Certification: RBT Certification highly preferred (Preferred, In-house training available for qualified candidates).
- Requirements: Valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and meet agency driving standards. CPR Certification (Preferred).
