Experteer Overview In this role you provide comprehensive psychological services to inmates with complex mental illness, guiding clinical decisions with supervisory support. You may supervise fellow staff and serve as a mental health resource for multidisciplinary teams, while upholding correctional security duties. The position involves crisis intervention and tailored treatment planning for seriously mentally ill inmates, contributing to safer, more effective care within the facility. Compensation / Benefits • Provide comprehensive psychological services to inmates with moderate to severe mental illness • Make professional clinical decisions with supervision from the Chief Psychologist and collaborative consultation with psychiatry and health services leadership • Potentially assume responsibilities of other psychologists in their absence and provide training supervision • Serve as a clinical resource to staff across disciplines (physicians, nurses, case managers, security personnel) • Contribute to the safety and security of the institution through professional duties • Perform and supervise psychological assessments and treatment planning for seriously mentally ill inmates Tasks • Doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or equivalent) • Full, current unrestricted psychology license in a U.S. state/territory/DC • Specialized experience at least at the next lower grade level (GS-12/GS-13) • Experience monitoring and treating inmates with mental illness, conducting assessments, and crisis intervention • Ability to supervise and train other staff psychologists • Knowledge of treatment literature for the mentally ill and decision-making under critical conditions • CTAP eligibility criteria and documentation as applicable • Legible transcripts and official license documentation required at application Key requirements • 25% group retention incentive
