Compensation / Benefits • Provide comprehensive psychological services to inmates with moderate to severe mental illness • Make professional clinical decisions with supervision from the Chief Psychologist and collaborative consultation with psychiatry and health services leadership • Potentially assume responsibilities of other psychologists in their absence and provide training supervision • Serve as a clinical resource to staff across disciplines (physicians, nurses, case managers, security personnel) • Contribute to the safety and security of the institution through professional duties • Perform and supervise psychological assessments and treatment planning for seriously mentally ill inmates Tasks • Doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or equivalent) • Full, current unrestricted psychology license in a U.S. state/territory/DC • Specialized experience at least at the next lower grade level (GS-12/GS-13) • Experience monitoring and treating inmates with mental illness, conducting assessments, and crisis intervention • Ability to supervise and train other staff psychologists • Knowledge of treatment literature for the mentally ill and decision-making under critical conditions • CTAP eligibility criteria and documentation as applicable • Legible transcripts and official license documentation required at application Key requirements • 25% group retention incentive
