We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child & Adolescent Counselor to join our dynamic mental health team. - Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to understand each child's unique needs, strengths, and challenges
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis, and behavioral therapy techniques
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focused on mental health issues including trauma, PTSD, autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, gender issues, and addiction recovery
- Utilize crisis intervention strategies to manage urgent situations effectively while ensuring safety for clients and staff
- Collect and maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards
- Coordinate case management activities by collaborating with families, schools, community agencies, and healthcare providers to support holistic care
- Employ motivational interviewing techniques to foster engagement and promote positive behavioral change
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess mental health conditions and inform treatment strategies
- Facilitate art therapy sessions or other creative modalities when appropriate to enhance therapeutic outcomes
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to social work, mental health counseling, special education, or related fields
- Proven experience working with children, adolescents, and their families in home or community care settings
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health disorders including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD, developmental disabilities, and gender issues counseling
- Expertise in applied behavior analysis (ABA), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychotherapeutic techniques, and crisis management
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, patient assessment procedures, and healthcare documentation standards such as HIPAA
- Ability to collect data accurately for clinical evaluation and treatment progress tracking
- Skilled in case management practices involving coordination with multiple stakeholders across social work and mental health disciplines
- Experience providing addiction counseling or working within substance abuse recovery programs is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for conducting intake interviews, individual/group therapy sessions, and conflict resolution
- Knowledge of special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations calmly while applying conflict management techniques
