A school district in Orange, CA is seeking a full-time school psychologist to support the needs of one elementary school with approximately 430 students and five moderate-to-mild classrooms. This contract position offers consistent weekday hours and the opportunity to impact a diverse student population in a school setting.
Location: Orange, CA
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (30 minutes unpaid lunch)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify student needs and support eligibility for special education services
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop effective intervention strategies and behavior plans
- Provide consultation and counseling to students to promote positive social-emotional development
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute data-driven recommendations
- Assist in implementing multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and response-to-intervention (RTI) initiatives
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in compliance with district and legal guidelines
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program
- Valid California Pupil Personnel Services credential in School Psychology
- Experience conducting psychoeducational assessments and working with elementary-aged children
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, assessment tools, and intervention methodologies
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to engage with families and educational staff
