RESPONSIBLE FOR: The Before & After School Care Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and daily operation of the Explorer Zone program, serving elementary-aged students in a safe, engaging, and structured environment. This role ensures high-quality programming, effective staff supervision, and strong communication with families while maintaining compliance with all district policies and licensing requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of before and after school care programs
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and physical development
  • Ensure a safe, structured, and welcoming environment for all participants
  • Maintain accurate daily attendance, student rosters, and sign-in/sign-out procedures
  • Manage program logistics including scheduling, space usage, and materials Staff Supervision & Development
  • Hire, train, and supervise program staff
  • Provide ongoing coaching, support, and performance feedback
  • Ensure appropriate staff-to-student ratios are maintained at all times
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians
  • Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and district staff to support student safety
  • Ensure compliance with district policies, licensing requirements, and safety procedures
  • Handle incidents, behavioral concerns, and emergency situations appropriately

QUALIFICATIONS: Undergraduate Degree in Early Childhood Development desired or equivalent work experience.

Ability to influence the district and department’s cultural environment, evaluate program practices and implement improvements that help students benefit from the educational program. Shows evidence of advanced computer technology and children’s programming skills. Articulates a clear educational and recreational program philosophy and sustainable implementation strategy. Skills in behavioral management techniques substantiated by training/work experience.

Pay: From $32,000.00 per year
