The ELV Dismantler safely de pollutes and dismantles end of life vehicles (ELVs) by removing fluids, batteries, tires, catalytic converters, and reusable or recyclable components. This role supports efficient material recovery and environmental standards while complying with OSHA and the company’s EHS programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle Intake & Identification – verify and complete paperwork, stage units in designated areas, identify hazardous components per site SOP/JHA.
- De-pollution and Component Removal – Drain and properly containerize all fluids including but not limited to; gasoline/diesel, motor oil, ATF, coolant using approved tools and spill-prevention methods.
- Operate hand/power tools, fluid evacuation systems, hoists and mobile equipment.
- Follow SWPPP practices including maintaining good organization and housekeeping practices, minimizing spills and hazards.
- Follow and maintain all established safety procedures including, wearing proper PPE, Lockout Tagout, proper labeling, and reporting near misses.
- Meet daily dismantling targets while protecting recoverable parts, minimizing contamination and ensuring material organization.
- Complete proper paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.
Compensation details: 19-23 Hourly Wage
