Job description

The Behavior Technician is an integral part of a treatment team and you will work solely with one family. All team members work collaboratively to assist an individual meet his individualized communication, social, and educational goals.

In the community, the behavior technician assists the individual to expand his knowledge and understanding of the world at large. Once training is complete, Behavior Technicians may also provide as-needed transportation to therapeutic appointments and other outings into the community for health and enjoyment. This position requires an individual who is compassionate and has a genuine interest in working with a young adult on the autism spectrum. Ideal applicants for this position have availability on Sundays 1-9 and Tuesdays 2-9 and Thursdays for a total of 22 hours per week. This part time position may in the future become full time.

Requirements: Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in one of the following: education, psychology, counseling, nursing, social work, applied behavior analysis, behavioral medicine, speech and language, rehabilitation, marriage and family therapy, or a comparable degree in a human services field.

Applicants must also have at least one year of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Professionally and positively communicate with client, co-workers and family members.
  • Promote and use Person-Centered practices to support the client in being an active member of their community and develop and maintain healthy relationships.
  • Execute program goals as outlined.
  • Assist with planning and executing daily activities according to consumer's needs
  • Plan and implement interventions for individuals using principles of applied behavior analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and state and federal regulations

Job Types: Part-time (up to 10 hours per week) to start with possible increases at certain times during the year.

Compensation: $27.50 per hour during the initial 90-day introductory training period and $30.00 per hour once training is complete.
