We do this to ensure that in Maryland, we leave no one behind.GRADE11LOCATION OF POSITIONDepartment of Human ServicesFamily Investment AdministrationOffice of Long Term Care746 Frederick Rd.Catonsville, MD 21228Main Purpose of JobThe primary function of this position is to determine eligibility and provide case management services for Long Term Care (LTC) and Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) and Non- MAGI Medical Assistance in accordance with federal, State, and local regulations policies, and procedures. The Long Term Care Medical Assistance program provides financial assistance to Maryland's residents in need of nursing home care. Community Medical Assistance eligibility is tested for Maryland residents upon exit from nursing care facilities.POSITION DUTIES
  • Determines customer eligibility for Long Term Care and Community, MAGI and Non-MAGI, as well as Department policies and procedures with 90% accuracy.
  • Maintains and monitors caseload in order to ensure timely services to customers in accordance with federal and State regulations and Department policies and procedures with 96% compliance.
  • Interview/screen customers by analyzing verifications, interpreting and applying program knowledge of federal and State regulations and policies and Department policies and procedures prior to issuing a Request for Information with 90% accuracy.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all federal and State regulations and policies, Department policies and procedures, and eligibility and data repository systems.
  • Completes assignments timely 96% of the time.
  • All Corrective Action Requests (CAR) will be completed by the due date with 90% accuracy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSApplicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying.Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.Experience: One year of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.Notes:1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPreference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s).   • Six months of experience processing eligibility for governmental assistance programs.
  • Six months of experience using computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs and Sheets.
  • Six months of customer service experience with staff members, agencies, and the general public.

  • Personal Leave- new State employees are awarded six (6) personnel days annually (prorated based on start date).
