Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients’ needs, strengths, and goals within various settings such as child welfare, behavioral health, and community programs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that incorporate evidence-based practices like motivational interviewing and crisis management techniques.
  • Provide crisis intervention and behavioral health support during urgent situations, ensuring safety and stability for clients experiencing mental health or addiction crises.
  • Offer addiction counseling, mental health education, and guidance on navigating complex systems such as Section 8 housing or Medicare benefits.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff or interns, fostering a collaborative environment focused on professional growth and high-quality client care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate services related to child welfare, workforce development, and community resources.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, progress notes, and incident reports in compliance with organizational policies.

Skills

  • Proven experience in crisis intervention and crisis management to effectively de-escalate high-stress situations.
  • Strong background in addiction counseling and behavioral health practices with an understanding of substance use disorders.
  • Expertise in social work principles, including client advocacy, case management, and resource linkage.
  • Skilled in motivational interviewing techniques to motivate clients toward positive change.
  • Supervising experience with the ability to lead teams or mentor less experienced staff or interns.
  • Knowledge of child welfare systems, Section 8 housing programs, Medicare processes, and workforce development initiatives.
