Burbank Music Center is seeking a passionate and dedicated Board-Certified Music Therapist to join our growing and dynamic team. In this role, you will harness the power of music to promote emotional well-being, support developmental growth, and enhance quality of life for children and individuals with diverse needs.
As part of our multidisciplinary environment, you will primarily work with students through our preparatory music programs and partnerships with regional centers.
Duties
- Conduct assessments of students’ needs and develop individualized music therapy plans aligned with developmental and therapeutic goals.
- Deliver engaging one-on-one and small group sessions using music therapy techniques that promote emotional expression, communication, and cognitive development.
- Incorporate elements of behavioral, recreational, and creative arts therapies into sessions as appropriate.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers and other professionals to support student progress.
- Maintain accurate session notes and documentation in compliance with professional and confidentiality standards.
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapy approaches based on individual response and goals.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages confidence, creativity, and social interaction.
Experience & Qualifications
- Certification as a Board Certified Music Therapist (CBMT) required.
- Experience working with children, especially those with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
- Strong understanding of behavioral and developmental support strategies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with families and care teams.
- Ability to lead both individual and small group sessions effectively.
- Experience working with regional centers is a plus.

Pay: $33.73 - $40.62 per hour
