Role Summary

Accessum Health is hiring a long-term, high-trust companion and logistics coordinator to support older adults—often living with dementia, Alzheimer’s, mobility limitations, or complex healthcare needs—with non-medical, day-to-day life support. We are looking for people who are interested in staying and growing with the company, and have a track record of commitment to their previous professional experiences.

This role is for someone who is compassionate, polished, calm under pressure, and highly dependable—the kind of person who brings order to the day, protects dignity, and helps seniors stay safe, engaged, and living as fully as possible.

This is not a clinical role. You will not provide skilled nursing services. You will provide meaningful support with routines, transportation, household organization, and—over time—hands-on assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as shower prompting and grooming support, within non-medical companion care scope. You will also help with household logisitics and coordination, taking the burden off of the senior you are serving.

Key Responsibilities

Companion Care & Daily Structure

  • Provide steady companionship and emotionally supportive presence
  • Build routines that reduce anxiety and confusion, especially for memory changes
  • Encourage engagement: walks, hobbies, outings, social activities
  • Support independence while prioritizing safety and dignity

Logistics & Transportation (Must have reliable vehicle)

  • Drive clients to appointments, errands, and activities
  • Help coordinate schedules with family and Accessum leadership
  • Support appointment readiness (timing, items to bring, comfort planning)
  • Provide clear post-visit updates (energy, mood, mobility, confusion triggers)

Light Home Support

  • Light tidying and household reset (kitchen, living spaces, laundry assist)
  • Simple meal prep and cooking aligned with preferences and guidance
  • Grocery planning, errands, organization of daily needs
  • Light pet support as needed (e.g., feeding, short walks)

Non-Medical ADL Support (as appropriate)

  • Gentle prompting and hands-on assistance for:
  • Shower routines (set-up, reminders, standby support)
  • Dressing and grooming
  • Mobility assistance and safe transfers if trained
  • Observe and report changes (sleep, appetite, confusion, fall risk) appropriately

Communication & Professionalism

  • Provide consistent, professional communication to family and Accessum team
  • Maintain simple visit notes and logistics recap
  • Protect privacy and follow Accessum confidentiality standards
  • Professional appearance, dress

Required Qualifications

  • Empathy, Compassion, and a strong service mindset. We are looking for the right values and work ethic, and are willing to train the technical skills
  • Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and ability to meet driving/insurance standards
  • Strong organizational skills and punctuality
  • Comfort with light housekeeping and meal prep
  • Calm demeanor, excellent judgment, and high emotional intelligence
  • Polished appearance and professional communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • RN & OT Welcome
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience with dementia/Alzheimer’s (or strong comfort learning best practices)
  • Experience with dementia/Alzheimer’s (or strong comfort learning best practices)

Screening & Trust Requirements

Because this is a high-trust role with vulnerable adults, candidates should expect:

  • Extensive background screening
  • Reference checks
  • Potential driving record review

Accessum will structure compensation and employment practices consistent with applicable Colorado posting and wage/hour requirements.

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
