Duties
- Manage incoming calls and inquiries with professionalism, providing excellent patient service and answering questions related to home health services.
- Verify insurance coverage, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring accurate documentation review and eligibility confirmation.
- Collect and document patient information accurately using Synergy Healthcare software.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to gather necessary medical documentation.
- Assign patient to clinicians.
- Review clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and CPT/ICD coding standards like ICD-10 or ICD-9.
- Collaborate with billing department to facilitate medical billing processes.
- Maintain organized filing systems for medical records, ensuring confidentiality and easy retrieval of patient information.
- Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies to keep the clinic running smoothly.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficiency in EMR systems for documentation review and data entry.
- Excellent computer skills and familiarity with health information management software.
- Exceptional phone etiquette with experience managing multi-line phone systems in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Prior clinic or medical office experience with administrative support duties such as insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and patient service is preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, documentation review, and data entry tasks.
- Ability to handle high-volume intake processes efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.
