- Experience working in public school settings (preferred)
- Conduct comprehensive psychological and educational evaluations of students referred for special education services.
- Interpret assessment results and communicate findings through clear, legally compliant written reports.
- Participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings and provide input on eligibility and services.
- Consult with teachers, parents, administrators, and other professionals to enhance student learning and implementation of educational plans
- Assist school staff with behavior management strategies and classroom interventions.
- Provide input on functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Provide individual or group counseling for students as needed.
- Support crisis response efforts, including suicide risk assessments and postvention services.
- Collaborate with outside agencies and mental health providers as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is completed in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements.
- Adhere to timelines for evaluations and ARD processes.
- Stay current on changes in special education law and best practices in psychological services.

Primary Purpose:
Perform professional psychological work in assessment, behavior management, and counseling for students with emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, and behavioral problems. Assess the psychological and psycho-educational needs of students referred to special education services.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master's degree in psychology from accredited college or university
Valid Texas license as a licensed specialist in school psychology (LSSP) or Trainee
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of procedures for assessing achievement and intellectual, emotional, and behavioral functioning for educational purposes
Knowledge of prevention and intervention strategies, including behavior management interventions
Knowledge of psycho-social development
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
