Behavior Technician

PAID WEEKLY $25 per hour

The Children's Behavior Tech works with children under 15 years old with developmental delays, behavioral and/or emotional challenges, as well as those who may be on the autism spectrum.

Our behavioral health programs provide a well structured environment and activities that are designed to meet the developmental and behavioral goals and needs of each child. Using the therapeutic techniques of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), activities will be focused in the areas of speech/language development, cognitive development, fine and gross motor development, self-help skills, sensory integration, and social development.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts classes for children in accordance with the instructional design and philosophy of the program.
• Supports children with all areas of their development (speech, cognitive, fine/gross motor skills, self-help, social skills etc...).
• Evaluates each child in class and in all program activities; also prepares IPP for each child.
• Plans and implements daily activities, including class, music and lunch.
• Participates in parent and staff meetings.
• Maintains close contact with parents and/or caregivers.
• Attends required agency trainings, both on and off site
• Supervises the work of the Children's Mental Health Assistant.

Requirements:

• Experience in implementing ABA and behavior programs
• California Driver's license and good driving record

Nice to haves:

• Previous experience working in a mental health setting preferred
• Knowledge of how abuse and trauma affect young children, as well as the ability to not personalize a child’s behaviors
• Demonstrated leadership and teambuilding abilities
• Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing, in Professional English.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour
