School-Based Social Worker - Warren, Michigan

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time opportunity is available for a School Social Worker at an elementary school in Warren, MI. This contract position runs through the current school year and focuses on providing support to students within the school setting, working five days a week with an elementary caseload.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver social work services tailored to the needs of elementary students in a school environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student welfare and address social and emotional challenges.
• Identify and connect students and families with internal and external resources to promote well-being.
• Maintain clear and effective verbal and written communication with students, staff, and community partners.
• Work cooperatively within the school team to foster a positive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

• Masters degree from a graduate social work program approved by the State Board of Education.
• Valid temporary or full approval for school social work from the Michigan Department of Education (MDE).
• Strong understanding of the role and functions of a School Social Worker.
• Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
• Experience as a School Social Worker preferred.
• Proficiency in resource identification and development within school systems.
