Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. This role is essential in providing support to individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly those on the autism spectrum. The Behavior Technician will implement behavioral therapy techniques and assist in data collection to monitor progress and enhance the quality of care provided to our clients. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a strong understanding of applied behavior analysis.

Duties

  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a licensed professional.
  • Provide direct support to clients, focusing on skill acquisition and behavior reduction strategies.
  • Collect and record data on client behaviors and progress towards goals.
  • Assist in conducting patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations as needed.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation, including medical records and intake forms, while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including special education professionals, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Engage with families to provide updates on client progress and strategies for continued support at home.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities related to behavioral health.

Experience

  • Previous experience in behavioral therapy or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • 6 months experience supporting and/or working with people with developmental disabilty.
  • Familiarity with applied behavior analysis techniques is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or other disabilities, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care practices, and medical documentation processes is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment are essential.
