CHIEF PSYCHIATRIST, CORRECTIONAL AND REHAB SERVICES (SAFETY)

Experteer Overview As Chief Psychiatrist, you lead psychiatric and mental health services in a correctional setting, reporting to the Chief of Mental Health. You drive program development, standards, and evaluation of services at Wasco State Prison. The role involves recruiting and onboarding clinicians, guiding clinical programs, and collaborating with internal and external partners. You influence rehabilitation-focused care and contribute to a safe, humane environment. This is an opportunity to shape mental health care within a state correctional context. Compensation / Benefits • Participate in recruitment, hiring and orientation of new psychiatrist • Plan and direct psychiatric and mental health services programs in a correctional institution • Participate in program development, planning, standards, and evaluation • Collaborate with department and health care partners to ensure quality care • Support implementation of rehabilitation and restorative justice programs Tasks • Possession of a current/valid license as Psychiatrist in California • Legal qualifications for medical practice in California as determined by the Medical Board or Osteopathic Examiners • Background verification and security requirements including Live Scan and TB testing • Ability to meet MQ verification prior to interview/appointment • Overseas education verification if applicable • Out of Class experience documentation if used to meet MQs Key requirements •
