School Counselor - Fremont, CA

Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A licensed mental health professional is sought to provide specialized support within a K-12 educational setting in Fremont, CA. This contract position, spanning the current school year, entails approximately 15 hours per week of in-person work. The focus will be on assisting students aged 7 to 18 who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Emotional Disturbance (ED), guiding them toward achieving their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with students to support social, emotional, and behavioral development aligned with IEP objectives
• Work directly with students diagnosed with ASD or ED, tailoring interventions to meet individual needs
• Coordinate with school staff and families to ensure comprehensive care and progress monitoring
• Maintain accurate records and documentation compliant with professional and educational standards

Qualifications:

• Valid licensure as a mental health professional such as a school counselor, school psychologist, or social worker
• Experience working with school-aged children, particularly those with ASD or Emotional Disturbance
• Strong understanding of IEP processes and special education regulations
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with students, families, and school teams
