Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position offers an opportunity to provide essential social work support within a K-12 educational setting, serving students across a range of developmental stages. The role involves working both at a central special education cooperative location and within various member district buildings, accommodating diverse student needs from elementary through high school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive social work services to students requiring FMLA coverage, starting immediately through the end of February.
- Manage a flexible caseload tailored to the candidates experience and the needs of students across multiple grade levels.
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to support students' social, emotional, and behavioral development.
- Facilitate interventions, counseling, and referrals to community resources.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school and district policies.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator License (ISBE PEL) with appropriate social work certification.
- Experience working with K-12 students in educational or clinical social work settings.
- Ability to adapt services for a wide age range, from elementary through high school students.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work across multiple locations within the cooperative and member districts.
Location:
- Based in Chicago, IL, with placement in both cooperative facilities and district buildings.
Contract Details:
- Contract position covering an FMLA leave immediately through the end of February.
- Approximately 0.6 full-time equivalent (3 days per week), which may be combined with similar part-time needs.
