Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Master Social Worker to join our team in providing comprehensive behavioral health and social services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in crisis intervention, addiction counseling, and child welfare, with experience in supervising and mentoring staff. This role involves working closely with diverse populations, including children and families, to promote well-being, stability, and community integration. The Licensed Master Social Worker will play a vital role in developing and implementing individualized care plans, managing crises, and supporting clients through various social service programs such as Section 8 and Medicare. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ behavioral health needs, including crisis management and intervention strategies.
  • Provide addiction counseling and support for clients dealing with substance use issues.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor personalized care plans tailored to individual client needs.
  • Facilitate crisis intervention sessions to ensure client safety and stabilization.
  • Manage cases related to child welfare, Section 8 housing assistance, Medicare, and workforce development programs.
  • Offer motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive behavioral change.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff or interns, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with community agencies, healthcare providers, and families to coordinate services effectively.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Stay informed about current policies related to behavioral health, social work practices, and relevant legislation.

Qualifications

  • NY Valid licensure as a Master Social Worker (LMSW or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in crisis intervention, crisis management, addiction counseling, and behavioral health services.
  • Strong knowledge of child welfare systems, Section 8 housing programs, Medicare regulations, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise staff or mentoring experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clients from diverse backgrounds effectively.
  • Experience working with children and families is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques and other evidence-based intervention strategies.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and compassion while maintaining confidentiality. This role is integral to supporting individuals and families through challenging circumstances by providing expert guidance and compassionate care within a structured social work framework.
