Duties
- Offer peer support by sharing lived experience to inspire hope and resilience among clients facing mental health or addiction issues
- Conduct crisis intervention and manage urgent situations with calmness and professionalism, ensuring client safety at all times
- Assist clients in developing coping strategies through motivational interviewing techniques and behavioral health practices
- Collaborate with clinical teams to coordinate care plans and document interactions using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems accurately
- Mentor clients through goal-setting activities, providing encouragement and practical guidance for recovery or social integration
- Support clients during behavioral crises by implementing de-escalation strategies and connecting them with appropriate resources
- Maintain detailed records of client interactions, progress notes, and incident reports in compliance with agency policies
Skills
- Strong understanding of crisis intervention and crisis management techniques to respond effectively during emergencies
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles, mental health counseling approaches, and addiction counseling methods
- Excellent mentoring abilities with a compassionate approach to supporting individuals in recovery or social adjustment
- Proficiency in utilizing EHR systems for documentation and case management purposes
- Effective communication skills to build trust and rapport with diverse populations
- Ability to apply motivational interviewing techniques to motivate positive change in clients’ behaviors
- Experience or familiarity with social work practices, trauma-informed care, and community resource navigation

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 15.0 per week
