The hospital is accessible 24 hours a day for admissions, and includes mental health assessments and an excellent referral network. Treatment programs and specialty services at VBPC include substance abuse, dual diagnosis and partial hospitalization.Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center currently has a Full-Time Lead Recreation Therapist position available. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.Job SummaryDevelops, implements and evaluates the provisions of recreation services in collaboration with the Director of Nursing. Provides prescribed and individual recreation services to patients; assesses, maintains and develops programs to access social, cognitive, physical and emotional functioning. Maintains a therapeutic relationship with patients; assists in maintenance of a safe, clean therapeutic environment and assures that patients participate in recreation therapy activities; and documents accordingly.
QualificationsJob RequirementsThe following are the job requirements for the Full-Time Lead Recreation Therapist position:Undergraduate degree from an accredited school in Therapeutic Recreation and CTRS certification or licensure within the respective field required.
