Have you mentored exceptionally gifted students to reach goals that seemed unattainable to others?

gt.school enables gifted and talented students to finish high school by 8th grade—5-10x faster than conventional pathways. You will apply AI-driven and adaptive learning systems to customize each learner's experience, building not only their intellectual capacity but also their emotional intelligence and perseverance.

We seek coaches who recognize themselves in our students: individuals driven to accomplish more, faster. This role is not about traditional teaching. You are a mentor and coach who applies AI-based tools and motivational strategies to guide gifted children through high school completion years ahead of schedule. There is no classroom management or conventional instruction involved.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Guide and inspire gifted students to finish high school by 8th grade using personalized, accelerated learning approaches
  • Mentor students in essential life competencies (grit, resilience, focus, public speaking) in addition to academic achievement
  • Apply AI-powered tools to monitor student progress, customize learning paths, and adapt instructional methods
  • Encourage students to progress through adaptive learning platforms and meet ambitious educational milestones
  • Work alongside a team dedicated to transforming education for high-performing learners

Counselor Key Responsibilities

Basic Requirements

  • Willing to work in-person in Austin (Georgetown), TX
  • Proven track record of academic achievement (National Merit Scholar, academic Olympiads, prestigious scholarships, dual-enrollment, etc.)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience coaching, mentoring, or teaching gifted and talented students or high-achieving youth
  • Regular use of generative AI tools in educational settings (customizing lessons, generating assessments, adjusting instruction)
  • Strong communication and public speaking abilities
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
