Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.


A full-time school-based mental health counselor position is available, working with a high school caseload. This contract role offers the opportunity to provide essential counseling services within an educational setting, supporting students' emotional and mental well-being.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid license as one of the following:
    • Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
    • Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW)
    • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
    • ERMHS Specialist with a Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential
  • Experience working with adolescents in a school environment preferred
  • Strong understanding of mental health challenges faced by high school students
  • Ability to develop treatment plans tailored to individual student needs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with school staff, families, and students

Location:

  • Position is based in Escondido, California, serving a local high school community.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling services to high school students
  • Conduct mental health assessments to identify student needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
  • Assist in crisis intervention and develop safety plans when necessary
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school and legal requirements
  • Promote a positive and supportive school environment conducive to learning and growth
