Salary commensurate with experience: $85,000 to $100,000 / annual (exempt)

Full Time: Monday to Friday: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

  • Hybrid - Office/Field and Home
  • Majority of our positions are remote, but services are provided either hybrid or in person

SHIELDS’ mission is to develop, deliver and evaluate culturally sensitive, comprehensive service models that empower and advocate for high-risk families in South Los Angeles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision & Support: Provide weekly individual and group supervision for therapists; consult on clinical, legal, and ethical issues.
  • Quality Assurance: Review clinical documentation, monitor billing and Q.A. reports, and ensure compliance with agency, BBS, and DMH standards.
  • Training & Development: Train new staff in clinical documentation, facilitate case conferences, and plan staff development activities.
  • Program Coordination: Coordinate clinical services to support client goals, referrals, and linkages with community resources.
  • Compliance & Representation: Maintain program contractual requirements and represent the program or agency at internal and community meetings.
  • Crisis Intervention: Assist with 5150 or voluntary hospitalization procedures when needed.
  • Professional Growth: Maintain BBS licensure, complete supervisory training, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Job Requirements

  • Ideal candidates are licensed clinical professionals with strong leadership, documentation, and coordination skills, dedicated to ensuring high-quality mental health services and team collaboration.
  • Clinical Expertise: Experience providing individual counseling and crisis intervention for adults with mental illness and their families.
  • Supervision & Documentation: Skilled in supervising social work, marriage and family therapy and psychiatric interns and ensuring accurate, compliant clinical documentation.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiar with Agency policies, HIPAA, DMH standards, and state/federal regulations for mental health services.
  • Cultural Competence: Provide services using a culturally sensitive, community-informed approach.
  • Communication & Advocacy: Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to advocate effectively for clients and staff.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills: Proficient in word processing software and capable of sound judgment and decision-making.
  • Professionalism: Demonstrates teamwork, adaptability, and alignment with SHIELDS for Families’ mission and values.
  • Licensure & Education: Master’s degree in a related field and at least two years of experience with adults with mental illness. Must hold an active LMFT, LCSW, or Licensed Psychologist credential.
  • Additional Requirements: Valid California driver’s license, car insurance and acceptable driving record.
