Summary:

This position plays a vital role in administrative and clinical support within the infusion center ensuring smooth operation of the infusion center by managing the intake process for new and returning patients that are referred from internal and external providers. This position also will be used to increase the outside physician referrals to Catholic Health's infusion center while incorporating the philosophy and mission of Catholic Health. This includes ensuring complete and accurate documentation is received for safe and effective infusion therapies, verifying insurance, obtaining/requesting prior authorizations and scheduling appointments. This role requires excellent communication internally and externally, organization and attention to detail to facilitate timely patient care. Works collaboratively to build relationships and community referral sources as well as other key stakeholders. Individual must possess strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or equivalent required Associates Degree in healthcare preferred

EXPERIENCE
  • Two (2) years of healthcare/ Medical Office/ Infusion Center preferred
  • Two (2) years of customer service or sales experience preferred
  • Background within Infusion and/or Oncology services

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
  • Knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorization processes and medical terminology
  • Familiarity with EMR Systems; experience with Epic
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Strong computer skills required. Willingness to learn new software applications
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability work productively with all levels of personnel including physicians, families and care givers

  • Possess active listening skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to work within the team of health professionals
