About the Role:
Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking Behavior Technicians to provide direct behavioral support to students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges in educational settings. This role focuses on implementing evidence-based interventions, monitoring progress through data collection, and fostering positive behavioral change to enhance academic and social success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs): Apply individualized strategies to address challenging behaviors and teach replacement skills.
  • Apply ABA Principles: Utilize Applied Behavior Analysis techniques, including reinforcement, prompting, and shaping, to support skill acquisition and behavior reduction.
  • Collect and Analyze Data: Record behavioral data consistently to monitor progress and inform treatment decisions.
  • Facilitate Generalization: Support students during transitions and in multiple environments to promote skill carryover.
  • Promote Positive Behavior: Reinforce pro-social behaviors and teach coping strategies to improve emotional regulation.
  • Collaborate with Team: Work closely with teachers, school staff, and specialists to ensure consistency and fidelity of interventions.
  • Ensure Safety and Crisis Management: Implement de-escalation strategies and maintain a safe environment during behavioral crises.

Job Duties:
  • Support teacher-led instruction while embedding behavioral strategies.
  • Review and implement individualized BIPs with fidelity.
  • Apply ABA-based teaching methods to increase engagement and independence.
  • Maintain safety protocols during high-risk behaviors.
  • Assist students in classroom and non-classroom settings, including transitions and alternative environments.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Strong behavioral support experience
  • Experience collecting behavioral data
  • At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children with special needs.
  • Strong interest in supporting students with behavioral challenges.
  • Reliable transportation required.
