EAP Position Opening Announcement (New York City)

Weill Cornell Medicine seeks Master’s-level clinicians (LMSW / LCSW, MHC-LP / LMHC, LMFT) for a full-time EAP Care Coordinator role. Responsibilities include conducting telephonic intake assessments, coordinating referrals to EAP counselors and external providers, supporting the EAP team with administrative and reporting tasks, developing wellness content, and providing limited short-term counseling and organizational services.


Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct telephonic EAP intakes and respond to client inquiries during weekday business hours (9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.).
  • Document all client interactions promptly and accurately in the EMR.
  • Manage and track full-time and part-time staff schedules.
  • Gather, organize, and report utilization and budget data using Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, and/or EAP software.
  • Support clinicians in identifying referrals for longer-term or specialized care.
  • Provide virtual and in-person, solution-focused short-term counseling.
  • Develop and deliver virtual and onsite wellness trainings.
  • Provide Critical Incident Response services, including group and 1:1 support, onsite or virtually.
  • Offer management consultation to supervisors, managers, and HR partners.
  • Complete additional projects as assigned by the Clinical Director.


Education

Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.


Experience

  • Training and experience in assessment, referral, and short-term counseling modalities (e.g., CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, DBT).
  • Ability to work flexible hours during organizational emergencies.
  • Experience creating research-based webinar and seminar content.
  • Optional: Bilingual Spanish.
  • Optional: Experience in hospital settings.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong counseling skills and ability to support individuals and work groups.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and data-analysis abilities.
  • Proficiency in creating clear, actionable reports for senior management.

Skills

  • Conduct clinical intake assessments, determine appropriate levels of care, and de-escalate crises.
  • Provide short-term, solution-focused counseling.
  • Deliver group and individual support for workplace teams.
  • Present effective webinars and seminars.
  • Maintain timely, thorough documentation in EMR systems.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the NYC metropolitan area.


Licenses and Certifications

  • Licensed in New York as LMSW/LCSW, MHC-LP/LMHC, or LMFT.
  • Willingness to obtain licensure in NJ, CT, and PA.


Working Conditions / Physical Demands

  • Ability to work both remotely and onsite.
  • Willingness to travel locally to various campuses and sites.
