Shore Point Distributing Company, one of New Jersey’s largest beverage wholesalers, is expanding its Non Alcoholic Division and has an immediate opening for a motivated individual to join the team as a Non Alc Route Driver Sales Representative. We are a family-owned beverage distributor located in Freehold, NJ, carrying an extensive portfolio of Beers, Wine, Spirits, and Non-alcoholic beverages throughout the state servicing Warren, Hunterdon, Burlington, Mercer, Somerset, Middlesex, Monmouth, and Ocean counties.
Job Description
A Non Alc Route Driver Sales Representative plays a pivotal role in executing sales strategies and programming to drive growth on assigned sales routes. This position is responsible for delivering products, building and maintaining customer relationships, and identifying new opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent, solicit, and present the full product portfolio to all accounts.
- Operate a company-owned vehicle along an established route to deliver products to customers.
- Sell products directly to customers during deliveries.
- Obtain accurate payment for delivery and proof of delivery.
- Seek out new accounts and distribution opportunities.
- Maintain call frequency to all accounts, ensuring maximum sales and distribution of assigned brands.
- Influence account decision makers to achieve sales volume and distribution targets.
- Execute the 1.5 rule to eliminate out-of-stocks and generate optimal orders.
- Replenish truck based on projected daily sales.
- Restock and pack out all cases to avoid product expiration, out-of-stocks, and returns.
- Maintain timely and productive execution of sales plans and programs, including pricing and promotions, coordinating product displays and shelf space management.
- Execute all chain account sales mandates.
- Fully utilize technology available to maximize time and drive sales opportunities.
- Conduct weekly audits for assigned accounts to communicate merchandising needs to management.
- Maintain a professional attitude and excellent customer service.
- Ensure all paperwork is accurately recorded and maintained in a timely fashion.
- Mentor and train new Driver Sales and Relief Driver employees.
- Position may include additional responsibilities and duties as assigned from management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and communicate comfortably with customers.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Moderate familiarity with field marketing and distribution sales is a plus.
- Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card within two weeks of hire.
- Must be able to work in all climates and environmental conditions.
- Experience driving vans, 6 bays, and small box trucks preferred.
- Clean driving record required.
- Must pass pre-employment physical, background check, and drug/alcohol screening.
Compensation
This position offers a competitive weekly base salary with scheduled annual increases, a monthly Pay-for-Performance (PFP) bonus, and a monthly cell phone stipend. Employees in this role receive overtime pay for qualifying hours worked over 40 per week.
