Position Definition:
Bilingual Research Psychologist (fluent in Spanish and English languages) will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and with Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) staff to enroll (including consent) study participants and study partners into the Together Exploring Aging Minds (TEAM-ADNI) sub-study. She/he will administer (in Spanish and English) standardized cognitive/neuropsychological tests and other research assessments to consented participants, perform data entry, and complete other duties related to participant data tracking and study operations and oversight. This is a fully remote position.
Essential Functions
- Assist, train, and oversee subject enrollment, phone screening and phone consenting of prospective participants and study partners; work with the team to schedule research subjects; interview participants and their study partners; collect demographic, medical history, cognitive, and clinical data.
- Oversee scheduling of participant visits to Quest Diagnostics for specific study procedures: blood collection, urine collection.
- Collect neuropsychological data and train other staff to collect neuropsychological data; operate all relevant software used for data collection and recording. Conduct data entry with high fidelity.
- Maintain and update databases, subject information documentation, and subject payment forms as needed.
- Attend and help lead internal meetings as well as regular project and/or team meetings. Will also meet with supervisor on regular basis to provide updates.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- MD or PHD required in related field
- Required: 5+ Years of experience in a clinical research setting
- Required: bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Previous experience administering neuropsychological tests (CDR, MoCA, GDS, etc.) and other study tasks in both Spanish and English
- Previous experience talking with prospective study participants, explaining complex study procedures, and consenting participants
- Good organizational and computer skills; exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to work well as part of a team
- Comfortable interviewing and talking with participants on the phone
- Ability to work respectfully and diplomatically with a diverse cohort of participant, caregiver, faculty, and staff at all levels
- Preferred: Prior experience working with individuals from lower socioeconomic and educational backgrounds
The work environment for this position is fully remote/work from home. The incumbent may sustain posture in a standing or seated position and may utilize a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time.
VA Onboarding Requirements
NCIRE is an affiliate organization of the San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS), which requires all candidates to complete SFVA onboarding in addition to NCIRE's onboarding process. The SFVA is a federal agency that requires a federal background check, occupational health clearance, vaccines and immunizations, and drug testing for certain positions. Drug testing may include screening for marijuana which remains an illegal substance according to federal law. The failure to pass required drug testing will disqualify candidates from employment.
The base wage range for this position is $72.11 - $132.22 per hour. The wage actually offered to a successful candidate will take into account various relevant and non-discriminatory business factors including, without limitation, the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, and skills, and education, as well as internal equity considerations. A successful candidate may also be eligible to earn additional compensation including bonuses.
