The Social Work Assistant is a position providing social services and responsible for social programs to center participants under the supervision of a social worker. The Social Work Assistant reports to the Social Worker.
Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese 中文 or Spanish español preferred and big plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs assignments as trained and directed by social worker.
- Demonstrates an ability to communicate effectively, expresses ideas clearly, listens actively and follows appropriate channels of communications.
- Document all treatments on the same day the services were provided.
- Providing treatment to participants under the guidance of the Social Worker, and the care plan developed by the Social Worker.
- Leading participants in problem oriented discussion groups and task-oriented committees.
- Documentation of all social services provided by the Social Work Assistant (under the supervision of the Social Worker).
- Performing other duties as required by the administrator, Program Director or Social Worker.
QUALIFICATIONS
- The person holds a bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited school.
- Able to speak, read and write English fluently.
- Physically capable both of performing the required duties and of assisting frail elderly and disabled adults, as necessary.
- Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese Chinese, or Spanish
The center social worker will provide the center with a health examination, signed by a physician, and a TB clearance, which is not more than 12 months prior to employment or within 7 days of employment and shall provide the center a current certificate of CPR and First Aid training.
