Job Summary
Abeita & Associates is seeking a BCBA/Qualified Behavior Modification Professional (QBMP) to provide clinical oversight for individuals attending behavioral modification day programs, while also contributing to the growth and development of our broader behavioral services team.
The specific pay and workload depends on the number of clients attending the day program but is approximately 20hrs/week. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about taking on part time work with a potential for full time. Duties include reviewing behavior consultant reports, guiding Behavior Management Assistants (BMAs), and providing clinical leadership to other BCBAs/QBMPs and emerging professionals.

Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and develop individualized behavior support plans (BSPs) in compliance with Title 17 §59050.
- Provide oversight of BSP implementation and coach Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to ensure fidelity to intervention strategies.
- Train DSPs and RBTs in behavior modification, skill acquisition techniques, and trauma-informed, person-centered supports.
- Analyze behavioral data and make data-driven modifications to BSPs as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and DDS guidelines, especially around behavior interventions and restrictive procedures.
- Use evidence-based teaching methods, including task analysis, prompting, chaining, and reinforcement, to support client skill development.
- Incorporate preference assessments, choice-making, and naturalistic teaching strategies in daily programming.
- Support and supervise DSPs pursuing Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification, including conducting competency assessments.
- Review and provide feedback on behavior consultant reports and documentation to maintain quality and compliance across the team.
- Supervise and support other BCBAs or clinical staff, fostering collaboration, clinical consistency, and professional development.
- Assist in strategic planning efforts to enhance service delivery and contribute to agency growth.
- Attend interdisciplinary meetings and actively contribute to person-centered planning efforts.
QualificationsEducation and Licensure
Must meet one of the following:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
- Licensed Psychologist (California Board of Psychology)
- Other qualified California-licensed professionals authorized to design behavior modification interventions
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in behavior intervention for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Experience with high-acuity or crisis-level behaviors is strongly preferred.
- Supervisory experience or team leadership in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in functional assessments and BSP development.
- Strong clinical judgment with a coaching and mentoring mindset.
- Solid understanding of behavior analytic principles, person-centered planning, and trauma-informed care.
- Working knowledge of Title 17, regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to contribute to the strategic and clinical growth of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supervising other BCBAs or behavior consultants.
- Experience training and supporting staff through the RBT certification process.
- Familiarity with systems for internal review, report QA, and documentation compliance.
