About the Role
As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will provide essential AOD (Alcohol and Other Drug) counseling, case management, and support services to individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders. You’ll work closely with our interdisciplinary team to guide clients toward lasting recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments and orientation for new clients
- Provide individual AOD counseling and weekly case management
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with clients and therapists
- Facilitate 3–4 group sessions weekly
- Coordinate with medical staff and external providers as needed
- Participate in clinical staff meetings and group supervision
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation within 24 hours of services
- Administer and document UA drug screenings
- Assist in crisis intervention, discharge planning, and aftercare development
- Uphold client confidentiality, HIPAA, and ethical standards
Qualifications
- Certified Substance Use Counselor (CCAPP, CAADE, CADTP, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of direct client care in treatment, mental health, or related setting preferred
- Knowledge of co-occurring disorders, detox protocols, and recovery services
- Strong communication and case documentation skills
- CPR/First Aid certified; recent TB test and health screening required

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
