Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (MHRS) to provide comprehensive mental health services within our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will deliver evidence-based psychotherapy, conduct clinical assessments, and develop individualized treatment plans for diverse patient populations. This role involves working with children, adults, and seniors across various settings, including hospitals, community clinics, and home-based care. The LCSW/MHRS will play a vital role in supporting patients through crisis intervention, case management, and behavioral health therapies while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and medical documentation standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations using clinical research methods and medical terminology.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Implement specialized care strategies for populations including children with autism or developmental disabilities, geriatrics with Alzheimer's disease, and individuals with PTSD or substance use disorders.
- Facilitate crisis intervention and crisis management to ensure patient safety and stability.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR systems) in accordance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust personalized treatment plans aligned with CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards, and case management protocols.
- Engage in patient care activities such as intake procedures, patient assessment, behavioral health monitoring, and social work interventions.
- Participate in clinical research projects related to mental health treatment outcomes and data collection initiatives.
- Provide education on mental health topics including addiction counseling, PTSD care, working with people with disabilities or autism, special education needs, and working with individuals with developmental challenges.
- Support community outreach efforts by offering home & community care services when applicable.
Experience
- Proven experience in psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, clinical counseling, and social work within healthcare settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in working with children & family counseling, behavioral health disorders, and crisis intervention strategies.
- Experience utilizing EMR systems for documentation; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding is preferred.
- Background in hospital or outpatient mental health environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology related to mental health treatment is a plus.
- Prior work involving patients with autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease or geriatrics is advantageous.
- Experience conducting diagnostic evaluations for mental health conditions including PTSD, addiction issues, or other behavioral health concerns.
- Ability to manage complex cases involving trauma-informed care such as trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) or psychodynamic approaches.
