Job Description
Vision Plus of Silver Lake is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to join our growing optometry clinic: one full-time (40 hrs/week)
Our PCCs are the first point of contact for patients on the phone and in the clinic. This role requires someone who can balance multiple responsibilities while still delivering a welcoming, professional patient experience.
Training is provided, and no prior insurance knowledge is required, though familiarity with vision or medical insurance is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients, ensuring accurate chart information in our EHR (EyeCloud Pro)
- Manage multiple incoming phone lines and email inquiries while assisting patients in person
- Schedule and confirm appointments, prepare routing slips, and verify insurance coverage
- Assist with patient check-out, payments, and appointment questions.
- Support flow on high-volume doctor days (Tues/Thurs) with strong communication and prioritization
Requirements
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple responsibilities at once
- Comfort working with diverse patient backgrounds
- Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply and may start at a higher wage
- Previous insurance or medical office experience preferred, but not required (training provided)
About Us
We are a women-owned, independent optometry clinic with two doctors and a growing dry eye specialty. Our focus is on clinically guided care with excellent service. We aim to build lasting relationships with our patients and support staff growth with ongoing training in both clinical and patient care roles.
This Role Is a Great Fit If You:
- Thrive in a fast-paced, structured environment where you are always engaged
- Can stay focused, calm, and professional while handling phones, scheduling, and in-person communication at the same time

- Understand that the front desk sets the tone for the entire patient experience
- Communicate clearly, confidently, and courteously even when the clinic is busy
- Stay consistent and reliable in your workflow, time management, and follow-through
- Enjoy being part of a professional, medically-focused team, not just "working at a desk"
- Take initiative to anticipate needs and solve problems before they become interruptions during our patient flow
This Role Is Not a Fit If You:
- Get overwhelmed easily or need frequent breaks when things get busy
- Prefer slow, repetitive work over active multitasking
- Find it difficult to stay professional when under stress
- Are uncomfortable learning new systems, processes, or scripts
