Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Peer Recovery Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your lived experience with mental health or substance use challenges to provide support, guidance, and encouragement to individuals on their recovery journey. You will serve as a mentor and advocate, helping clients navigate systems and access resources while fostering a sense of hope and empowerment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one support to clients, utilizing your personal experience to foster trust and rapport.
  • Assist clients in setting personal goals and developing action plans for their recovery.
  • Facilitate group sessions focused on skill-building, coping strategies, and peer support.
  • Offer crisis intervention and management techniques to help clients navigate challenging situations.
  • Collaborate with mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Educate clients about available resources, including addiction counseling, behavioral health services, and community programs.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage client engagement in their recovery process.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress in accordance with organizational policies.

Experience

  • Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist is required.
  • Experience in social work or mental health counseling is preferred.
  • Familiarity with crisis intervention strategies and behavioral health systems is essential.
  • Previous mentoring or coaching experience is a plus, particularly within addiction counseling contexts.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with diverse populations are crucial for success in this role.
