Position Details
The primary purpose of the part-time Psychologist is to provide therapeutic interventions for the psychological and social needs of individuals served. The psychologist will provide psychological testing as required by the program to increase our understanding of the issues experienced by the individuals we serve. Supports the integration of evidence-based practices and provide therapeutic interventions based upon the principles of wellness and recovery.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Effectively contributes to and supports an environment that enhances the positive self-image of individuals served and preserves their human dignity.
- Actively participates in centralized meetings, committees and task forces as assigned.
- Spends appropriate percentage of time providing direct services as determined by unit.
- Effectively manages caseload demands including crises.
- Responds with clinical flexibility to the needs of individuals served.
- As required by the program, participates in research activities, development, implementation, and evaluation of programs.
- Formulates assessments, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, progress notes, and termination/discharge summaries.

- Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D. in Psychology with relevant experience that includes consultation, testing, program development/evaluation activities; minimum of two (2) years’ experience, including graduate training, working in a behavioral health care or related setting.
- Candidate must be licensed in the State of New Jersey as a Clinical Psychologist.
- Computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
