Job Title: Bilingual Substance Abuse Counselor - Adolescent Program
Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt, 40 hours/week
Schedule: Monday - Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends, 8-hour shifts.
Reports to: Adolescent Program Manager
Work Location: In-person
Compensation: $28.00 to $33.00/hour
Job Summary:
Center Point DAAC is seeking a passionate and experienced Bilingual Substance Abuse Counselor to join our Adolescent Program team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in addiction counseling, specifically working with adolescents. We are looking for a dedicated professional who can provide individual, group, and family counseling services, lead male-specific group sessions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support the recovery and well-being of our adolescent clients.

Requirements:
  • 1 year of addiction counseling experience working with adolescents.
  • Substance Abuse Registration/Certification from a State of California Accredited Institution. (CCAPP, CAADE, CADTP)
  • Valid California Driver's License.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Valid TB test. (within the last 12 months)

Essential Duties:
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions to adolescent clients.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, including assessments, progress updates, and discharge planning.
  • Lead group sessions specifically designed for male adolescent clients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including case consultations and training sessions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, staff, and external agencies.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred but not required).
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong technical skills and ability to learn agency-specific software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualities:
  • Spanish language proficiency a plus.
  • Experience with evidence-based treatment modalities for adolescent substance abuse.
  • Familiarity with adolescent development and specific treatment needs.
  • Strong initiative, conscientiousness, reliability, and adherence to ethical codes.
  • Ability to problem-solve and resolve conflict effectively.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.

Additional Requirements:
  • Availability to work evenings as needed.
  • Comfortable working with male adolescent clients in group settings.
  • Ability to establish rapport with adolescents and their families.
  • Knowledge of community resources and referrals for adolescent-specific services.
