Position Summary:
Join Camp W Day Camp as an Art Teacher and inspire campers (7-10 years old ) to explore their creativity, build artistic skills, and have fun! In this role you’ll lead art projects, teach a variety of media, and foster a positive and inclusive environment where campers feel safe to express themselves.Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead daily art sessions ( 35 minutes long) and creative projects for campers( 12-15 campers per group).
- Teach and assist with various art media (puppet making, canvas painting, drawing and more) adaptable to different skill levels.
- Ensure art area is safe, organized, and stocked with supplies.
- Collaborate with other camp staff and integrate art activities into the overall camp day.
- Supervise campers during art time and support their creative development and peer interactions.
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive and fun camp atmosphere, encouraging campers and celebrating their work.
Qualifications:
- Comfortable working with children, able to guide, inspire, and encourage creativity.
- Experience in one or more art media (drawing, painting, mixed‑media, etc.).
- Strong communication skills, team‑oriented and accountable.
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work the full session (June 29 – August 7) from Monday - Friday 10:30 am - 5:00 pm.
- Prior experience teaching art, working with kids in a camp/educational setting is a plus.
