- Implement Statewide initiatives and strategies which support engagement, and cooperation efforts with legislative leaders.
- Serve as the Board's and Zone's senior staff liaison to the private sector community.
- Advise and provide expert advice to the SLA Board regarding issues, concerns, and recommendations of state, local, tribal, territorial, and campus law enforcement.
- Serve as liaison to key strategic partners and ensure timely exchange of information regarding shared constituencies.
- Manage outreach programs, including communications and coordination support to state and local law enforcement.
- Direct and manage agency projects by conducting research, developing implementation strategies, providing oversight, implementing policies and procedures, and offering recommendations to program staff to resolve issues and ensure project timelines are met.
- Provide training and support to various government entities, community boards and forums.
- Ensure that all program activities are aligned with established standards for quality of service.
- Perform research and analysis for the assigned program area; and prepare reports for use by executive management.
- Identify barriers to the success of projects and propose and implement solutions.
- May supervise staff or project teams.
- Other duties as necessary/assigned.
- Travel may be required (approximately 20%), including during evening and weekends, depending on mission and assignment.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver's License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required, or otherwise demonstrate the capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job.
