GUIDANCE COUNSELOR - MIDDLE SCHOOL LEAVE REPLACEMENT

SALARY: $54,308.70 - $59,841.00 PLUS FULL BENEFITS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Enhance inter-relationship between families, schools and the community.

- In conflict and disciplinary situations, perform ongoing consultation with teachers/community professionals to address disciplinary situations for students and their families.

- Work with individual classes on a scheduled basis.

- Provide on-going training to involve students and parents including life skills training, which may include social skills development and conflict mediation/resolution.

- Perform preventative interventions including health promotions, violence prevention and other training

- Facilitate Student’s transition to and connection to the middle School.

- Refer students and their families to community resources when appropriate.

- Maintain documentation to ensure plans have been met, including detailing plans/events, student and parental training and outcome measures and referrals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor Degree
• Master Preferred
• NYS School Counselor or Social Worker Certification
• Have at least two years of successful experience as a teacher, administrator, or supervisor.
